GPU - Page 4
A GPU, or Graphics Processing Unit, is a specialized electronic circuit designed to accelerate the processing of images and video rendering for display. It is highly parallel in nature, capable of performing many calculations simultaneously, which makes it ideal for handling complex graphical tasks as well as general-purpose computing tasks that benefit from parallel processing. GPUs are utilized in a variety of applications beyond graphics, including machine learning, scientific simulations, and cryptocurrency mining. They work alongside the CPU (Central Processing Unit) in a computer system, offloading rendering tasks and enhancing overall performance in graphics-intensive operations.
